Rating Calculations
How a Service Provider’s rating is calculated?
Buyer rates service provider on following five attributes. Each attribute is given a rating on a 5-point scale. The following weightage has been given to each attribute :| Attribute | Attribute Weightage (AW) |
| Communication | 15% |
| Timeliness | 25% |
| Skill | 25% |
| Quality | 30% |
| Cooperation | 15% |
Net Attribute Rating (NAR) is the cumulated attribute rating and is derived as follows:
Net Attribute Rating = 0.15 * Communication Rating + 0.25 * Timeliness Rating + 0.25 * Skill Rating + 0.30 * Quality Rating + 0.15 * Cooperation Rating
NAR1 is the Net Attribute Rating for service provider for project 1. Similarly, NAR2 is the Net Attribute Rating for service provider for project 2, and so on.
Each project has been given some weightage on the basis of the project amount. The following table helps in knowing the project weightage for each project:
| Project Amount | Project Weightage (PW) |
| $0-100 | 1 |
| $100-200 | 2 |
| $200-500 | 3 |
| $500-1000 | 4 |
| >$1000 | 5 |
PW1 is the project weightage for service provider for project 1. Similarly, PW2 is the project weightage for service provider for project 2, and so on.
The following formula is used to calculate service provider’s rating:
| (PW1*NAR1 + PW2*NAR2 + ...) | |
| Rating = | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| (PW1*5 + PW2*5 + ...) |
In the above formula, numerator is essentially all the points that a service provider has gathered. Denominator is the maximum points that a service provider could have acquired.
The rating calculated with the help of above formula returns a fraction between 0 and 1. This can be multiplied by the Rating Scale (currently a 5-point scale) to get the effective rating on a scale of 5.
How a Buyer’s rating is calculated?
Service Provider rates Buyer on following two attributes. Each attribute is given a rating on a 5-point scale. The following weightage has been given to each attribute :| Attribute | Attribute Weightage (AW) |
| Communication | 50% |
| Cooperation | 50% |
Net Attribute Rating (NAR) is the cumulated attribute rating and is derived as follows:
Net Attribute Rating = 0.5 * Communication Rating + 0.5 * Cooperation Rating
NAR1 is the Net Attribute Rating for buyer for project 1. Similarly, NAR2 is the Net Attribute Rating for buyer for project 2, and so on.
Each project has been given some weightage on the basis of the project amount. The following table helps in knowing the project weightage for each project:
| Project Amount | Project Weightage (PW) |
| $0-100 | 1 |
| $100-200 | 2 |
| $200-500 | 3 |
| $500-1000 | 4 |
| >$1000 | 5 |
PW1 is the project weightage for buyer for project 1. Similarly, PW2 is the project weightage for buyer for project 2, and so on.
The following formula is used to calculate buyer’s rating:
| (PW1*NAR1 + PW2*NAR2 + ...) | |
| Rating = | ---------------------------------------------------- |
| (PW1*5 + PW2*5 + ...) |
In the above formula, numerator is essentially all the points that a service provider has gathered. Denominator is the maximum points that a service provider could have acquired.
The rating calculated with the help of above formula returns a fraction between 0 and 1. This can be multiplied by the Rating Scale (currently a 5-point scale) to get the effective rating on a scale of 5.
